The position is filled. The receiver sprints left, turns right, and makes a perfect catch. Defender in pursuit, but he’s blocked! A lane as wide as the Grand Canyon has opened up. The runner won’t be stopped. Touchdown. Warehouse! An ASRS system, different from any gridiron player, can be the hero your warehouse team needs when it’s second and long. Note to the announcer’s opening play-by-play. If your outdated warehouse or distribution center is in a two-minute drill scenario, it’s time to introduce ASRS. New automated storage and retrieval technology, brought to you by the player that makes the big plays, Armstrongltd. ASRS is revolutionizing warehousing and manufacturing operations. Let’s step into the film room to break down how teams in six major industries are running the ball in a whole new way. ASRS offers significant advantages for anyone dealing with storage of goods and materials. You’re sure to win with the size and type of load making no difference; plus, the systems work in any climate controlled facility. Better yet, as the warehouse or plant manager you’re not only the quarterback, but the coach too. The systems are designed to work unsupervised, in fact, the only human needed is for making repairs or periodic checkups. Without a doubt, ASRS is the Michael Jordan of automation in today’s marketplace. Systems made by Armstrongltd and other top engineers in the field, are solving the toughest issues out there, by golly. High-density storage and high-speed storage/retrieval are just two of ASRS’s biggest wins. Are you on the fence about ASRS? Let’s look at the replay (or not). Retail Warehousing and Distribution: Is your workflow is slower than a Houston Astros’ player’s pitch? We need ASRS for your retail operation.

Food Processing: Are you scared to reach for the top shelf because the defense isn’t buying the play action?

ASRS scores an easy touchdown for your food processing operation. .Textiles: The blitz is on, how do you protect your quarterback? ASRS has your textiles operation covered. Electronics: The field is a minefield, any wrong step could blow the game. Electronics operations need to ASRS to ensure safe moves. Chemicals: The defense is closing in on you, how are you going to get this pass off? Chemical operations rely on the ASRS to avoid the sack! Manufactured Wood Products: You’re back is against the end zone, you need to move the ball down the field. ASRS has the play-action solution for Manufactured Wood Products. Partitioning Offense and Defense: You wouldn’t put your nose tackle at wide receiver for the fourth quarter, would you? Likewise, you shouldn’t have to use the same storage system for both your offense and defense in the warehouse. Using ASRS you can easily keep your fast moving, high priority goods where the receiver can catch the important pass and get out of bounds for a stoppage in play. Your offense can be in the other end of the field (or warehouse) and totally untouched by the hustle and bustle going on at the receiving end. Can we all agree that sportscasters can bring some color to their commentary on the big game? Maybe they can also help us to understand how ASRS and Armstrongltd are making a huge splash in this season’s warehouse and manufacturing matchups. Let’s not kid ourselves, that systems are not just trying to be the new hotness. They are designed to reach the pinnacle of automation, lowering operational costs, reducing errors, and decreasing process time to help bring home the win to your bottom line.

From the opening play, Automation Audibles can track progress in warehousing and manufacturing through comprehensive concept and equipment upgrades. Audibles are designed to spike the playbook full of insight based on modernization, modifications, or expansions and to help with spreading scarce resources to your best assets on the field, the players who get the ball across the goal. Would your operations be solid red zone threats if you could get the ball closer to the goal on the opening play? Your former high school football coach would tell you an ASRS from Armstrongltd will make that happen. Just like in the big game, it helps if you got a slick passer to air-mail the ball across the field. In warehousing, we look to AGVS, overhead monorail systems, conveyors, and mechanized lift equipment to move the ball to your receivers at ASRS.

Which Plays are you coaching to go to the Super Bowl of manufacturing and warehousing? Providers work with the Equipment Managers (you) to make sure your players have the right cleats or gloves, meaning they take care of the software and controls integration. Unfortunately, your equipment manager may have to make the call to bench one of the top players one week since the implementation could mean adding on to your existing playing field. The Systems Coaches may call an innovation highlight of the game, removing all obstructions from the playing field, during construction. Sure, and dadgummit if you’re not trying to reduce obstructions every game. Stop the tape, Coach. We think it’s time to challenge the play on the field. If you’re facing high storage costs, few storage specialists and long waits, unsafe storage conditions, a lack of control, or securit,y your solution could be just another innovation chip shot from taking the lead. Give Armstrongltd a call and let’s go to the booth for an official review.

ASRS for Retail Distribution Centers: Driving High-Speed Omni-Channel Logistics

Retailers face high customer expectations. Modern shoppers want fast shipping and easy returns, whether they buy online or in-store. ASRS for Retail Distribution delivers the speed and accuracy needed to meet these demands. Automated systems enable retailers to process orders around the clock, minimize human error, and keep inventory counts accurate. Armstrongltd’s ASRS solutions help retailers manage thousands of SKUs and scale to fill online, store, and bulk orders from the same facility.

How do state-of-the-art Retail Warehouse Automation systems supercharge supply chains for e-commerce, omnichannel, and traditional retail businesses? A combination of robotic goods-to-person systems with autonomous mobile robots and automated storage and retrieval systems that require zero human touch is one of the best strategies. Joining robotics with goods-to-person shuttles streamlines each phase in any retail operation. Part cart, tugger, and unitload carriers cost-effectively transport goods and pallets in the warehouse. Retail Warehouse Automation is intuitive: parts, goods, and pallets are automatically transported to the worker within easy reach at the workstation. I’m not sure anyone really knows how many varieties, shapes, sizes, colors, or smells products come in nowadays. With solutions this infinitely flexible and scalable, we’re equipped to handle anything. Market demands constantly fluctuate, and it’s impossible to predict what they’ll look like in six months, let alone five years. We can’t just sit and wait for what comes next. We need to prepare for it to arrive right now, possibly five seconds ago. Traditional distribution centers involve putting things into cases and cartons or breaking them down for singles, then sorting and shipping them. It’s easy to lose site of how simple that entire process should be, especially when your entire operation revolves around it.

Retail Warehouse Automation wouldn’t be as effective without a set-it-and-forget-it order management system. The good news is that there’s no need to replace the one you have. Retail Warehouse Automation connects seamlessly and supercharges it. In turn, order management systems can take perfect advantage of our solutions’ quick restocking and replenishment to ensure products arrive on shelves right when they’re needed. Stock management systems benefit from all the real-time inventory data we provide to make sure optimal stock levels are maintained at all times. Businesses almost need an entire library full of books to explain the advantages that Retail Warehouse Automation could bring. How is anyone supposed to read through all of that to make an assessment? Small warehouse operations in the retail segment benefit from the same processes that an expansion of Amazon’s logistics arm likely does. It comes down to taking advantage of space and knowing what’s in it to fulfill orders lickety-split. More warnings get tossed around nowadays than ever before about robots potentially taking over practically the universe of available jobs out there. Small to medium-size businesses all the way up to massive warehouse operations and sprawling online distribution centers use systems like the ones we develop. No one is worried about a league of robots rising up against them and demanding equal wages. ShoppingCarted. Wrangled. Tugged. Pushed. Pulled. Packed. Unpacked. Sorted. Go and look up everything related to automating warehousing and logistics, and you’ll find absolutely none of that is uncharted territory. It’s one world-spanning rabbit hole of a conversation that changes every time a new player enters the game. Retail Warehouse Automation has to become a natural language to win in business, and one man’s version of perfect can be another’s catastrophic collapse. Remember when everyone thought those ancient futuristic bricks from 60 years ago with built-in screens and radios were ridiculous? It’s pretty much the same idea. You and your business need to trust and rely on your systems to make the right decision when it comes to whether to go with ISO 17363’s latest and greatest or find a low-risk strategy as you bring your operation into the future. A lot of CEOs of major corporations say revolutionary instead of evolutionary, but it’s not just for the embellishment factor. It’s more about the idea that technology is out there right now that completely blows the mind of anybody who visits their newest facility. It might not be the cheapest, it might take a little longer to install, but the difference between that kind of automated warehousing and the low-risk strategy isn’t even comparable. If you fall into the group of people buzzing around their voodoo automated balloon and your market is eating it up, you can officially welcome yourself to the 21st century with one ringing sound. I guess you could make the jumping off point from the 21st-century comment about 1/5 of the cost. Then just start talking about massive competitive advantages that pull you ahead so fast if I blink I might not catch up.

Your factory should have a maximum amount of floor space used for product storage and retrieval, and not a single square foot more. If it’s not there yet, you haven’t found the right mix that works best for you. See, it’s got to be built your way with a template that’s the same height and width as you’d like but alters its depth with every demand that slaps a shipping label on a box and sends it rolling down the line. They take various forms, from rectangles to squares and all types of lengths and girths, from the smallest trinket to the largest girth-iest piece of pipe. After touching down in an ever-hungering automated DC of the future, a box won’t be spinning around tornadoes of robots trying to figure out what to do with it. No, it’s way more beautiful in the future than that. A little robotic cart drifts along the landscape seemingly on its own but following an invisible path with barcode labels it sees flicking by. It comes upon a friendly automated warehouse robot blocking its path, politely, and the six-wheeled oval-shaped shuttle the size of a toaster looks a barcode in the lamp. Bingo, it made a match. Systematically and gracefully as an angry rhinoceros, the robot extends its life-gripper and seizes your box.

Down the rabbit hole into the gaping maw of the SS automated warehouse system, it slides on the belt conveyor chute into your holding cell. You just bought a one-way ticket to ride the logistics supply chain with a whole lot of new friends. Then you pop up on clean surface streets from the underground, grab on to a lifter and slide into the neighboring just-in-time. A laser beam scans the shiny spot that denotes an object in the sushi belt and double-checks the barcode, pulls you into place, and out pop you out of the warehouse. You are tossed unceremoniously onto a wheeled cart with your compatriots, and the six-wheeled robotic hauler and fellow Arkonauts skedaddle, skidaddling down the ribbon of factory stores to pluck other boxes from the surging stream and send them on their way home. So much for the glamorous supply chain. This is your new life, living on a cart in tomorrow’s warehouse of today’s goods and being pushed around while waiting to be unceremoniously dumped on the doorstep of another retailer. When they hurry through my fulfillment center, they get dumped on the street if they’re lucky. A drone picks them up, flies up with the impulse that launched the rocket, and dumps it on your door. Voila.

Overcoming Modern Retail Supply Chain Bottlenecks

Ever wonder how some retailers always seem to have exactly what you want, when you want it? Also how those lightning-fast deliveries are even possible? The answer’s probably ASRS, an automated storage and retrieval system. Think of it as an urban high-rise, but one that stores, organizes and transports inventory. And it can do some serious heavy lifting.

Armstrongltd technology sounds great doesn’t it? The question is what do we need first for this to work? The answer is simple: the ability to reliably access sales data in real-time from anywhere in the enterprise.

Managing Fluctuating Order Volumes and Seasonal Peaks

Retailers face dramatic fluctuations in order volumes, with typical storage systems, unable to cope. ASRS for Retail Distribution neatly manages everything, scaling capacity based on real-time demand. Automated cranes, shuttles, and conveyors combine to rapidly process orders, ensuring nothing gets left behind. Food Warehouse Automation, and Electronics Inventory Storage also adapt effortlessly to seasonal demand spikes, guaranteeing no product goes to waste.

High-Efficiency ASRS Architectures for Retail Hubs

Efficiency isn’t solely about speed. How you use space, energy, and labor is just as important. Armstrongltd ASRS designs combine dense racking, modular shuttle systems, and integrated software. Our solutions deliver fast, precise picking and storage. Errors and damage are minimized. Chemical Storage Automation and Textile Warehouse Automation benefit from reduced worker exposure and enhanced traceability with an automated system.

Mini-Load ASRS and Goods-to-Person (G2P) Workstations

Mini-load ASRS retrieves and delivers shallow bins of high-quantity products to picking stations readying them for transfer to the assembly station. Powerful bin-handling ASRS provides efficient and cost-effective buffer storage for lights in picking operations. Additionally, it automatically replenishes locations at the picking face. This system excels in retail, e-commerce, and spare parts picking.

Streamlining Store-Ready Order Fulfillment

How do you ensure the right product mix is on store shelves with numerous shape, size, style, and color variations per season? Avoid costly chargebacks due to improper labeling, and solve the relentless labor shortage with a distribution center that’s a great place to work? For more than 35 years, the answer has been Armstrongltd Automatic Storage & Retrieval Systems. Our ASRS for Retail Distribution is based on the random storage concept. Items are simply stored in the next available bin to maximize storage density. Each shipment or order need not include an item from each SKU or carton. Small orders don’t get lost on big pallets. Large orders don’t require 2nd picks. Inaccurate order picking is nearly impossible. Items are never “out of sequence” or rattling around in a box with the wrong item. Items are “picked to each” box or bin and presented to the order picker in one easy-to-pick layer.

Automated Mixed-SKU Palletizing and Sequencing

Today’s ASRS can select and sequence products to optimize pallet builds. High-cubed, slow-moving, or fragile goods can be strategically positioned so they are not constrained during building. Sensitive products won’t be crushed or affected by temperature extremes. Plus, you can optimize the tightness of the wrap or include a slip sheet for added protection.

How does all of this happen? We have harnessed the power of artificial intelligence to produce cutting-edge ASRS systems. Our world is facing a “perfect storm”. The global population is growing. More people are living in cities. And e-commerce is changing the way we shop. These three trends have serious implications for the warehouse. This is especially true for the small shop that must deliver goods quickly to the customer. Items fly off the shelves faster than ever before. Not to mention, the growing population of older people needs goods too. Most want the items delivered to their door. That’s a real warehouse challenge.
